Fastenal Co. reported fastener sales continued to rise in August, jumping 18.9% during the month compared to a 7.3% decline during August 2020.
Overall sales grew 14.2% to $531 million, while daily sales totaled $24.1 million, up 9% from the previous August.
Sales in the U.S. improved 7.2%, while sales in Canada and Mexico jumped 18.7%.
By end market, sales to manufacturing customers gained 19.7%, with sales to non-residential construction customers growing 10.1% in August.
The company’s workforce increased 2.7% during the month to 18,224 employees. Distribution personnel increased 5% to 2,720, while manufacturing personnel edged up 0.3% to 626 workers.
In the second quarter of 2021, Fastenal reported fastener sales grew 28.4% to $503.6 million (33.6% of net sales), driven by higher manufacturing and construction demand. Web: Fastenal.com
