FIEG Unveils Quality Seminar at NIFS/West

John Wolz

The recently formed Fastener Industry Education Group announced that its first seminar, “Ensuring Quality: Your Responsibilities Regarding Standards,” will be presented at the National Industrial Fastener Show/West on November 14 from 7:30 – 9 a.m.\ The presentation is free to all NIFS attendees.
The FIEG is a joint effort by the Industrial Fasteners Institute and the National Fastener Distributors Association. The group was formed as a proactive approach to help maintain quality in the fastener industry following headlines about lead paint in imported toys, toxic toothpaste and tainted dog food. The mission of the FIEG is to educate all fastener end-users and suppliers (manufacturers, importers and distributors) about the importance of understanding and effectively using industry and government fastener standards and how to achieve standard conformance.
“Ensuring Quality” will be held in the Jazzman Room at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Attendees can pick up the FIEG white paper at the NFDA or IFI booths prior to the seminar. The white paper should also be available for download in the coming weeks at nfda-fastener.org or indfast.org.
