FIN SURVEY
After five straight years of declines, the level of capital investment in the fastener industry increased in 2010. The FIN Capital Expenditure Index grew to 3.2 from 2.08 the previous year.
Until 2010, capital expenditures had not risen in the survey since 2004, when the index reached 3.4.
More than 58% of survey respondents noted stable capital spending in 2010, while 16% reported a “moderate” increase in investment and 5% saw a “strong” increase.
