More than 75% of companies reported overall performance improved for 2011, pushing the FIN Company Performance Index up to 6.9 from 6.2 in 2010. The record of 3.8 occurred in 2009.
The high in the 17 years of the FIN Index was 7.9 for 1994.
At the end of 2011, 35% of FIN Survey respondents achieved a “strong increase” in company performance during the year, while 38% reported a “moderate increase” and 23% reported no change.
Only 1% of companies claimed a “moderate decrease” in their company’s performance, and no company pegged itself in the bottom rating of “strong decrease.”
