FIN SURVEY
Fastener prices fluctuated by company as 2011 unfolded, the FIN Survey found.
More than 30% of survey respondents reported stable pricing for the year, while 6% claimed prices dropped an average of 15%. One in three companies saw fastener prices rise, though the increase varied between 1%-5%.
About 21% of companies claimed higher price adjustments ranging from 10%-30% during 2011.
More than six in 10 fastener companies anticipate prices increases in 2012, while 19% expect prices to remain steady.
Of the businesses predicting price hikes, 58% of them expect “moderate” increases and 3% claim “strong” fastener price increases lie ahead.
Only 1% predict prices will fall over the next several months, but 17% of FIN Survey respondents checked “unsure,” indicating the difficulty in predicting business conditions in the coming months.
