Distributors totaled 47.5%, manufacturers 44.3% and importers 6.6% of participants in the 28th annual FIN Survey of the Fastener Industry:
” Fasteners accounted for an average of 92.1% of the companies” sales.
” The companies averaged 2.9 plants/warehouses and ranged from one to 25 facilities. Employees ranged from 3 to 6500 and averaged 204.
” Annual sales ranged from $900,000 to $1.1 billion and averaged $58.3 million.
” 63.9% responded by fax and 36.1% by mail.

The End of 2006 FIN Survey questionnaire was circulated in November and December 2006. Responses were sent directly to and tabulated by AWP Research. Individual company responses are kept confidential. AWP Research reports the results to Fastener Industry News and reviews the articles prior to publication in FIN and on FastenerNews.com.
In some of the results the percentages may not add up to 100% due to “Don”t Know/Not Sure” responses and/or rounding to one decimal place.
