Confidence in both the White House and U.S. Congress on business issues is at its lowest level in the 10 years the question has been asked in the FIN Survey.
Fastener industry confidence in the White House on business issues dropped for the second year and at 2.5 is at an all-time low. The previous low was 2.6 at the end of 1999.
The Bush presidency began with a 3.5 rating but has not matched that again. After rating in the 3″s for five years, it dropped to 2.8 at the end of 2005.
A 51% majority rated their confidence in the White House at “low” or “very low.” In contrast, only 16.4% rated the current administration “high” or “very high.”
The 2.5 industry confidence in the Bush White House has dropped to a point below the lowest level of the Clinton White House at 2.6.
Congress rated even lower than the White House at 2.2. The high was 3.5 at the end of 2000 and last year was 2.5.
A 57.4% majority rated Congress as “low” or “very low.” Only 1.6% rated Congress “high” and no one checked “very high.” \ �2007 FastenerNews.com
