Grainger Reports Lower Organic Sales

Grainger reported sales, including fasteners, increased 3% in July of 2016.

The sales growth included a 4 percentage point contribution from Cromwell Group (Holdings) Limited, acquired September 1, 2015.  Excluding acquisitions, organic daily sales were down 1%, driven by a 1 percentage point decline in price and flat volume.

Sales in the U.S. dropped 2%, while sales in Canada declined 19% and sales in the company’s Other Businesses segment (Europe, Asia and Latin America) jumped 56%.
