The 2021 FSTNR Week will go on August 16-20, Mid-West Fastener Association executive director Nancy Rich said.

“We ask that those not vaccinated wear a mask,” Rich said. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available.

“We are watching for any changes in guidelines that affect us but so far ok,” Rich said. “We have the tables spaced more than usual and larger aisles so we’ve set up for distancing. We also are requesting, weather permitting, doors be open for more air circulation,” Rich added.

The new name for MWFA’s 40th trade show stands for “Fastener Show, Training, Networking & Recreation.”  The previous biennial Fastener Tech trade show held since 2007 has been discontinued.

The 2021 week begins with Fastener Training Week August 16-20; a print reading seminar Monday; the afternoon trade show and evening 75th anniversary banquet on Tuesday; the 68th annual Golf Outing Wednesday; and a Mixer on Thursday.

The trade show is at Belvedere Banquets in the Chicago suburb of Elk Grove Village. Web: MWFA.net

During the pandemic, Cook County has reported 564,000 Covid-19 cases and 11,121 deaths.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot declared July 31 that there are “no plans to shut down.” The city and state are “following current mask recommendations” and can be open “by also being careful.” Covid increases in recent weeks are “far below” what the city saw in previous surges.
