Gilchrist Foundation Announces 4 Fastener Scholarships

The Gilchrist Foundation awarded four scholarships for 2011, bringing its total to 36 students since 2000.
Scholarship winners from National Fastener Distributors Association applicants are: Jessup Cooper, sponsored by Southern Fasteners & Supply, Winston Salem, NC; Maria Cristina Garza, Wurth-Adams, McAllen, TX; and Kyle Strahm, Wurth Snider Bolt, Louisville, KY.

Robbie Gilchrist and Gina Gilchrist established the Gilchrist Foundation Fastener Scholarship in 2000 to return something to the industry.

The scholarship criteria include that upon completion of schooling the applicant must make an effort to work in the fastener industry or be a current employee from a NFDA or SEFA member company. Gilchrist scholarships may be applied for during any year of schooling and applicants may be a part time students currently working in the fastener industry.
