Gilchrist Names 2014 Fastener Scholarship Winners
The Gilchrist Foundation has awarded 2014 scholarships: Molly Brown, Wurth Adams; Mark Vail, Baco Enterprises; Kyle Strahm, Snider Bolt; Caleb Huntington, Elgin Fasteners; and Charlie Kunza, Wurth Adams.
A sixth award will be given after a Mid-West Fastener Association meeting in November.
Robbie Gilchrist and Gina Gilchrist established the Gilchrist Foundation Fastener Scholarship in 2000 to return something to the industry.
Application criteria includes that upon completion of education, awardees must make an effort to work in the fastener industry or be a current employee in the fastener industry and the company is a member of any of the industry trade associations.
The Gilchrist Foundation Scholarship may be applied for during any year of a person’s schooling. Applicants may be a part time student currently working in the fastener industry. Web:gilchristfoundation.com
Robbie Gilchrist opened Capital Fasteners Inc. in 1985 in North Carolina and the Gilchrists sold the multi-state distributorship in 1999.
