John Grabner of Cardinal Fastener was named as an advisor to the American Wind Energy Association board of directors.
“As a board, we will use our collective expertise to seize the historic opportunity we have today for the U.S. to become a leader in wind turbine manufacturing and wind power production, AWEA chair Vic Abate of General Electric said. “But the industry cannot achieve this alone – the government must also play its part by providing policy certainty and a national renewable electricity standard as a clear signal for investors that this nation is committed to renewable energy for the long term.”
Also named as advisors during the Windpower 2010 conference are Mike Garland of Pattern Energy Group and Susan Reilly of RES Americas. Web: AWEA.org
Cardinal Fastener created a wind power division in 2008 due to growing sales of fasteners for wind turbines. Wind customers account for about 20% of the company’s business.
Cardinal Fastener made international news in January when then President-elect Barack Obama visited the factory to promote wind energy on January 16, 2009, enroute to his inauguration.
