Grainger Sales Rise on Increased Volume

Grainger reported daily sales in August increased 7%, including 2 percentage points from acquisitions, net of dispositions, and a 1 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange.  Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic daily sales increased 6% driven by volume. 

Sales in the U.S. gained 8% during the month, while sales in Canada grew 1% (6% in local currency). Sales in Grainger’s Other Businesses segment – including results from Asia, Europe, and Latin America – rose 21% in August.

Grainger recently named Dean Johnson as president of its Canadian business, Acklands-Grainger.
