Hicks to Succeed Burns at Alleghany

Alleghany Corporation, parent company of fastener importer Heads & Threads International, announced that CEO John Burns Jr. will retire from his executive role at year-end, but continue as a director of Alleghany.\
Weston Hicks, executive vice president will become president and CEO.
Burns, 73, joined Alleghany in 1968 as a director and vice president-finance and was appointed president and COO in 1977 and CEO in 1992.
Hicks, 47, joined Alleghany in 2002 as executive vice president from The Chubb Corporation where he was executive vice president and CFO. Previously he was a senior research analyst covering the insurance industries at J.P. Morgan Securities for two years and Bernstein & Co., for eight years. �2004 FastenerNews.com
