Hillman Group agreed to acquire Hargis Industries, LP, doing business as ST Fastening Systems (STFS), a specialty fastener manufacturer and distributor based out of Tyler, TX. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hillman said STFS’s core product line of specialty fasteners fits well with Hillman’s fastener portfolio. In 2013, Cincinnati-based Hillman acquired Canadian fastener manufacturer H. Paulin & Co. Ltd. for $103.4 million.

Founded in 1992 by Joe Hargis, STFS manufactures & distributes threaded self-drilling fasteners, foam closure strips, & other accessories to metal building fabricators, hardware wholesalers, and building products distributors in the U.S. Web: STFasteningSystems.com

STFS’s headquarters will remain in Tyler and STFS will continue to maintain a distribution center in Cincinnati, OH.

STFS will continue to be led by industry veteran Bruce Crouch.

“Bruce is a great addition to the Hillman leadership team and we look forward to the contributions that he and his team will bring to Hillman,” stated Hillman CEO Greg Gluchowski. “STFS’s product lines and operational capabilities will expand our presence in strategically important commercial and industrial markets.”

Founded in 1964, Hillman distributes fasteners, key duplication systems, engraved tags, and related hardware items to over 26,000 retail customers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South America, and Australia. Web: HillmanGroup.com
