Holo-Krome Invests In New Equipment
Former Holo-Krome facility in West Harford, CT.
Holo-Krome has placed an order for an AFC-Holcroft mesh belt system with a capacity of 2000 lb/hr. The equipment will be used for neutral hardening and carburizing of cap screws and set screws of various sizes.
AFC-Holcroft will supply a new hardening furnace equipped with a burner management system and AFC-Holcroft’s BeltMaster(TM) control system for CQI-9 compliance. The system also includes a used/rebuilt temper furnace and rebuild of existing ancillary equipment. AFC-Holcroft will also provide a powered ventilation system and turnkey installation/startup.
The new mesh belt system is part of Holo-Krome’s expansion into a new 187,000 square foot modern manufacturing facility in Wallingford, Connecticut, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.
In June, Fastenal announced it would relocate Holo-Krome’s manufacturing operations from West Hartford, CT, to Wallingford. Holo-Krome moved more than 100 workers to a new 187,000 sq ft facility located at 61 Barnes Road.
Socket head fastener manufacturer Holo-Krome has been located in West Hartford since its founding in 1929.
