IDA / ISMA Merger Proposed

John Wolz

A task force for the Industrial Distribution Association and Industrial Supply & Manufacturers Association recommended the organizations merge upon member approval in April 2004. Officials said the merger would reduce costs.
The mission of the new organization would be to improve performance of the maintenance, repair, operating and production supply chain through manufacturer and distributor interaction.
IDA president Jim Beckstein said the merger would “facilitate our members understanding of the needs and concerns of both distributors and manufacturers, reducing channel conflict and fostering the cooperation” of MROP members. \ 2004 FastenerNews.com
