The Industrial Fasteners Institute presented its 2020 Soaring Eagle Technology Award to Anthony (Tony) DiMaio and the service award to Mike McGuire.

The IFI Soaring Eagle Technology Award recognizes individuals who have extensive experience in the industrial fastener industry and who have made significant contributions to the technological advancement of the industry.  

DiMaio has been technical committee chair and a pioneer in blind rivets.  He invented blind riveting tool designs and holds 26 U.S. patents that emphasize advanced technologies and appropriate methodologies.  His contributions have raised the state of the art in rivet design, manufacturing and end-user application.

The service award recognizes leadership for the entire industrial fastener industry.  

McGuire founded the National Industrial Fastener Show & Conference, the American Fastener Journal magazine, Fastening magazine and numerous fastener resource and buyer’s guides.
