Industrial Rivet & Fastener Adds 9th U.S. Distribution Center
Industrial Rivet & Fastener Company is expanding its domestic presence with a new U.S. distribution center located in Burlington, NC.
The New Jersey-based fastener firm has leased a 32,000 sq ft facility at the Willow Springs Industrial Park in Burlington, with plans to open the center by November.
“We are currently in the process of expanding and reconfiguring our home office space in New Jersey to increase its assembly, kitting and manufacturing capabilities,” company president Bill Goodman stated. “As a result, we’ll be moving some of the distribution functions currently handled here to the new North Carolina warehouse.”
The new distribution center will take over many of the functions currently handled in New Jersey, and will house a training facility that will offer classes to customers and employees. Industrial Rivet also installed new wireless warehouse capabilities to improve efficiency.
The facility will initially be run with existing Industrial Rivet employees, but Goodman said the company plans to add staff as the distribution center grows.
In addition to New Jersey and North Carolina, Industrial Rivet has distribution centers in California, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Utah and Illinois. Their international locations include Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
“We’re excited to see the Industrial Rivet family continue growing, especially as we approach our 100th anniversary in business,” says Goodman. “My grandfather started this business in Brooklyn, New York without – I’m sure – ever a thought of doing business outside that borough. It’s amazing to me what we’ve been able to accomplish.”
