Illinois Tool Works Inc. forecasts growth across its major businesses over the next five years, including a 4% to 6% increase in 2005. Reuters reports ITW projects compound annual growth sales of 11% for 2003 through 2008, as well as a doubling of its operating income during that period. ITW expects 2004 sales of $1.6 billion in its construction fastener business, with a 5% increase in 2005 despite rising steel costs.
