ITW Names Valls VP of Global Auto Fasteners

Illinois Tool Works Inc. appointed Juan Valls to executive vice president of global automotive fasteners. Valls, 45, becomes the first ITW executive vice president based outside of the U.S. Previously he was vice president and general manager of ITW Delfast International automotive fasteners. Valls, who has held numerous European automotive management positions at ITW, joined the company in 1989 as business manager of ITW Nexus Europe.
“Juan”s promotion speaks to his talents and ITW”s expanding global footprint as we continue to acquire and grow our businesses around the world,” said CEO David Speer.
Valls replaces Robert Brunner, 50, who was named executive vice president of ITW”s worldwide construction business. Brunner had been named president of North American automotive metal fasteners in 2002 and president of global automotive fasteners in 2005. He was promoted to executive vice president of global automotive fasteners in 2006.
ITW reported overall third quarter revenue soared 15.7% to $4.09 billion, with net income improving 10% to $491.1 million. \ �2007 FastenerNews.com
