Japan Fastener Export Volume and Value Up
Japan fastener exports grew 9.1% to 26.4 million kg in November 2010, which was 8.4% lower than October’s export figures, according to the country’s Ministry of Finance. The volume was valued at 20.14 million yen, up 6.7% from November 2009 though 10.3% lower than the previous month’s value.
Screw exports rose by 17.4% to 1.45 million kg, with the value gaining 10% to 2.4 million yen.
Coach screw export volume soared 80% to 7,840 kg, up 37.5% from the previous month.
Exports of spring washers and lock washers rose 31% to 143,185 kg, with the value increasing 20% to 209,803 yen. Other washer exports gained 11.4% to 1.09 million kg, though the value edged up only 2.3% to 1.34 million yen.
Stainless steel nut exports climbed 28.8% to 109,225 kg, with a value of 237,322 yen — up 38.3%. ©2011 GlobalFastenerNews.com
