Japanese Fastener Exports Rising

Japan’s 2009 exports of fasteners dropped 29.4% to Yen 191.9 billion, while imports fell 40% to Yen 5.3 billion, China Fastener Info reports.

Steel bolt exports, which account for 44% of all fasteners, fell 20%. Exports of nuts (21% of fasteners) dropped 28%, and small screws (12% of fastener exports) slipped 29.3%.

Steel bolts comprise the largest percentage of all fasteners imported to Japan.

China is Japan’s largest importer and exporter of fasteners, followed by the U.S. and Thailand.

As the 2009 financial crisis reduces, Asian economy takes lead in the global recovery and

China’s fastener exports to Japan in the first half of 2010 shows a substantial rise. Jiaxing’s export of fasteners to Japan reached US$57.26 million during the first four months of 2010, while the regions imported US$41.10 million.
