Jiaxing City Fastener Exports to U.S. Drop
Fastener exports from Jiaxing city in China fell 6.59% to US$900 million in 2013, ChinaFastener.com reports.
While still its biggest markets, exports to the U.S. and Europe dropped 4.5% to $390 million – 44% of the total export value in 2013.
Fastener exports to the U.S. declined 9% to $210 million – 24% of the total export value. Exports to Europe increased 1% to $180 million – 20% of the total export value.
Jiaxing fastener exports to emerging markets showed strength in 2013, according to ChinaFastener.com. Exports to Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa and ASEAN reached $200 million – 22% of the total export value.
Fastener exports to Japan rose 11%; Germany 7%; Italy 7%; the Netherlands 12%; Sweden 33%; and Singapore 10%.
The average export price of steel fasteners decreased 4% to %1,309 per ton, according to ChinaFastener.com. The price of copper fasteners increased 11% to $11,106 per ton, and the price of aluminum fasteners grew 5% to $2,471 per ton.
