Kendall Heads WAFD

Steve Kendall of Portland Screw Company was elected president of the Western Association of Fastener Distributors.
Kendall succeeds Andy Cohn of Duncan Bolt and is a second generation WAFD president. His father, Dave Kendall, was WAFD�s second president from 1983 to 1984.\
Robert Betts of The Olander Cooperation was elected vice president, and Alison Hubbard of North State Fastener, secretary-treasurer.
Board members are: Jay Hebert, Porteous Fastener Co.; Kelly Lehman, Pacific Warehouse Sales; Scott Sutherland, Western Fastener; and Cohn.
WAFD�s next meeting will be its 20th anniversary conference September 12-14, 2002, at Lake Tahoe, NV. Consultant Bruce Merrifield will speak on transforming a company from �OK� to �great.�
Other programs include the business owners and business executives� forums, a session on �Should you let a service company manage your computer system?� and WAFD founding president Larry Stanley.
Former WAFD members who have retired or moved on to other endeavors are welcome.
The next spring conference will be May 1-4, 2003, in Vancouver, BC.
