Key Numbers Up for 2011 NIFMSE: Booths, Distributors and Total Attendees
Numbers were up for the 2011 National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo in Las Vegas.
Total registration rose 3.5% to 4,238 persons from 4,096 in 2010, according to show management figures. The NIFMSE record remains 5,629 in 2007.
• Distributor registration totaled 1,253 – up 21% from 1,033 in 2010.
The Las Vegas show distributor registration record is 1,577 in 2007. The NIFS high mark remains 1,733 in 1995 in Columbus, OH.
Other categories included 173 independent sales reps; 172 cold forming manufacturers; 28 consultants; 5 media; 72 services; and 240 suppliers.
• A total of 582 of exhibiting companies using 704 booths are listed in the 2011 show directory.
Show management announced a final total of 757 booths.
Last year there were 568 exhibiting companies with 689 booths at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Measured by the number of booths, the 2011 trade show was NIFMSE’s third largest. The NIFMSE record remains 829 booths in 2007.
• A total of 36.8% of exhibitors in the 2011 show directory list addresses outside the U.S.
The percentage of exhibitors with international addresses edged up from 35.7% at the 2010 show.
That percentage does not include U.S.-based importers or international companies listing U.S. addresses.
• There were registrants from 33 countries – including the U.S. Previous totals were: 34 in 2010; 36 in 2009; 38 in 2008; 36 in 2007; and 37 in 2006.
• If was the first NIFMSE at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in the central Las Vegas “Strip” area. For the past four years the trade show had been at Mandalay Bay on the south end of the strip. From the first show in Las Vegas in 1997 through 2006 it was at Paris/Ballys.
NIFMSE has begun reporting the number of advance registrants actually attending. Thus while overall registration totaled 4,238, according to show management’s figures 3,673 picked up badges at the show. A total of 13.3% of advance registrants did not attend.
