Las Vegas Hotels Deals Abound During NIFS/West; Nearby Hotels Range From $31 to $199
Earlier this year the host Mandalay Bay Hotel dropped its rate from the originally announced $229 to $149 per night during the National Industrial Fastener Show/West, but still faces plenty of competition nearby from $31 to $199.
The show will be November 16-18, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority counts 140,529 hotel rooms in the city with plans to open 8,750 more rooms this year and another 7,215 in 2010.
Deals abound with Las Vegas traffic down this year. While Las Vegas has more hotel rooms to fill this year, McCarran International Airport reported its passenger count was down 11.9% through May this year.
The Luxor – located within the Mandalay Bay complex – was listed at $79 on Hotels.com, and Mandalay’s upscale TheHotel was priced at $187.50.
Last year Luxor dropped to $65 following the NIFS price deadline, which this year is October 8.
Even prices for nearby luxury hotels have plummeted. As of August 9, Hotels.com listed the Four Seasons at $199. Other well-known names include NewYork NewYork at $76; MGM Grand $93; and Monte Carlo $77.
