Mack Brooks Adds Fastener Fair in China
Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd. announced it is adding another Fastener Fair – this time in China.
Fastener Fair China is scheduled May 14-16, 2013, at the Suzhou International Expo Centre. It is co-located with Blech China, a sheet metal technology event in the Yangtze River Delta hub.
Founded by fastener distributor Jerry Ramsdale, Fastener Fair was first held in 1995 in England. By 2009 Fastener Fair Stuttgart had grown to the largest fastener trade show in the world.
Fastener Fair was acquired by UK-based Mack Brooks Exhibitions at the beginning of 2010. Subsequently Mack Brooks has added Fastener Fairs in Russia, India, Brazil, Thailand and Hannover, Germany.
Mack Brooks reports the fastener market in China has grown in excess of 10% annually in recent years. The Chinese fastener market is currently estimated at Yuan 55 billion (US$8.6b).
The Yangtze River Delta includes the cities of Shanghai, Suzhou, Ningbo, Wuxi, Nanjing, Changzhou, Jinhua, Taizhou and Wenzhou, and generates 26% of the country’s GDP, fulfills 37% export volume, attracts 52% foreign investment, and has consistently shown double digit growth per year.
Next to Shanghai, Suzhou is China’s second largest industrial city, with the fifth largest GDP in China. With a population of 10 million, it lies west of Shanghai and is accessible to Shanghai airports.
The automotive, general engineering, IT, telecoms, construction and consumer goods markets in China are growing. Even in a slow global economy, economists forecast China’s full year growth figures at 8% in 2012 followed by higher growth in 2013.
