MacLean & Blendulf Get Soaring Eagle Awards

Barry MacLean of MacLean-Fogg and Bengt Blendulf of EduPro US were honored with the Industrial Fasteners Institute’s 2013 Soaring Eagle Awards.
MacLean was recognized for Outstanding Leadership & Service to the Industry and Blendulf for Technical Achievement.
MacLean is CEO of MacLean-Fogg, a global enterprise with 37 facilities, including 26 in North America, and annual sales of more than $900 million.
Blendulf is president of EduPro US, Inc. He was on faculty at Clemson University in the College of Engineering and Science until 1996, when he formed EduPro to focus on education and consulting in the area of fastening technology and bolted/screwed joint design.
He is a founding member and formerly served as chairman of the Bolting Technology Council (now ASTM F16.96 Bolting Technology). Blendulf, who teaches and consults for many companies and organizations, has been in the fastener industry since 1966.
Educated in Sweden as mechanical engineer, he moved to the U.S. in 1974 to start a subsidiary for a European fastener manufacturer. He is the author of over 100 technical papers in addition to published articles related to fasteners and international standardization. He is also a contributing author of the Handbook of Bolts and Bolted Joints (Marcel Dekker Inc).
The IFI initiated the Soaring Eagle Awards in 2001 to recognize “those persons who have ascended far beyond the expected in their contributions to the North American fastener industry and the many industries it serves.”
Award nominations are welcomed and a nine-member committee chaired by Brian Lowry makes the final selections. ©2013 GlobalFastenerNews.com
