Only one-quarter of the industry reported price increases for 2000, and the increases averaged 4.96%. Of the 12.1% reporting decreases, the average was down 4.98% at a percentage nearly identical to the increases.
A larger percentage of companies � 24.7% to 15.4% � won price increases in 2000 than in 1999.
Distributors won 5.25% increases in 2000, compared with 3.19% for manufacturers. And distributors reporting decreases felt an average drop of only 4.75%, compared with 5.50% for manufacturers.\
