Management Team Acquires Baker & Finnemore

A management team has acquired UK-based Baker & Finnemore Limited, manufacturers of Starlock brand fasteners.

Baker & Finnemore has been based in Birmingham’s historic jewelry quarter since 1850, when it began as a producer of dip ink pen nibs. Today BakFin manufactures push-on fasteners, notably Starlock star washers. BakFin produces 500 million fasteners a year and ships to 50 countries.

Managing director Derek Sharp said customers will find the transition to be “business as usual, except for one crucial difference: now they will be dealing directly with the owners of the company.”
During the first half of 2006 BakFin invested in a new CRM system to service its international distribution agreements and CAD/CAM capabilities to support bespoke pressings and spring clip sales.
Baker & Finnemore is headquartered at 199 Newhall St., Birmingham, B3 1SN, United Kingdom. Tel: (44) 121 236 2347 Fax (44) 121 236 7224 E-mail: sales@bakfin.com Web: bakfin.com 2006 FastenerNews.com and Fastener & Fixing Europe
