Manufacturing Demand Gives Fastenal A Boost
Fastenal Co. reported sales increased 8.3% to $313.5 million in May, driven by double-digit growth in manufacturing customer demand.
Manufacturing customer revenue grew 12.9% during the month, while non-residential construction customer sales gained 8.4%.
Overall daily sales rose 13.5% to $14.9 million in May.
Total personnel increased 15.9% to 15,442. Store personnel grew 16.9% to 10,474, while distribution personnel rose 15.2% to 2,134 and manufacturing personnel increased 11.4% to 636.
During the month Fastenal opened three new stores, compared to five in May of 2013. In the first five months of 2014 the company has opened 12 new stores, bringing its overall store count to 2,687. ©2014 GlobalFastenerNews.com
