Mecanindus of France had acquired Vogelsang of Germany in 2003. Founded in 1972, Vogelsang manufactures tubular engineered fasteners in New Jersey, Kentucky, Germany, the Czech Republic, France and China.
The acquisition of Hedtmann broadens Vogelsang’s range of products and services. New manufacturing capabilities include compression limiter production; tension bushing options and ranges; and a new product line of Express Nails.
Compression Limiter production is expanded flange production with in-house automatic flange tooling for automotive, heavy trucking, medical and other industries relying on plastic injection molding. It also adds in-house grinding and sorting, which allows tight tolerances to exacting standards. Applications include transmissions, engines, pumps and other automotive components for tight fitting product to eliminate movement or slippage and prevent caustic materials like oil and gas products from seeping between parts.
