The Metropolitan Fastener Distributors Association inducted Sidney Cohen, Ron Jones, Leslie Sieper and Roger Stillman as the first class of the new MFDA Hall of Fame.

Stillman, of Metric and Multistandard Components, was active in the MFDA and represented the industry in subcommittee hearings for the U.S. Fastener Quality Act, giving technical presentations to distributor organizations throughout the country.

In 1999 Sieper of FastBolt became the first woman president of the MFDA.  She served on MFDA Table Top Show and scholarship committees.

Jones, Star Stainless Screw Co., was honored for service to the MFDA and greater New York fastener industry.

Cohen was honored posthumously. He had been with Nationwide Fasteners and was the first MFDA president.

An MFDA scholarship to be presented in May 2017 will be named for the Hall of Fame honorees.

“We feel it’s very important that we know our history, and that we honor those who have worked so hard over the years to help the MFDA grow into the thriving organization it is today,” co-chair Rob Rundle of R.W. Rundle Associates Inc. said of the MFDA Hall of Fame.  Web: mfda.us
