NEW BRIEFS
Monogram Aerospace Fasteners
TriMas Corp.’s Aerospace & Defense segment, including Monogram Aerospace Fasteners, reported a 19.4% jump in sales to $19.17 million in the third quarter of 2010, boosted by “increased sales in the defense business and improved demand from aerospace distribution customers.”
Segment operating profit gained 3% to $5.35 million, hampered by unfavorable absorption of fixed costs, while EBITDA edged up slightly to $5.77 million.
“Given the long-term prospects for its aerospace business, the company continues to invest in this high-margin segment by developing and marketing highly-engineered products for the aerospace market, as well as expanding its offerings to military and defense customers,” TriMas stated.
Nine-month Aerospace & Defense segment revenue fell 5% to $53.47 million, while operating profit dropped 29% to $13.02 million and EBITDA declined 26% to $14.78 million.
Overall third quarter sales grew 22% to $247.9 million, with income from continuing operations soaring 78% to $12.8 million. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
