Montana Aerospace Nut Manufacturer Expanding
Bitterroot Tool & Machine opened a new plant in Stevensville, MT, and plans to hire as many as seven more workers, local NBC affiliate KECI reports.
Owners Randy Jones and his wife Bonnie Jones started the business in 1999.
“We make fasteners for the aerospace industry,” Bonnie Jones told KECI. “They hold the floorboards on Airbus planes.”
The company also designs and manufactures priming, loading and processing machines used by ammunition manufacturers.
“We’ve come a long way,” said Randy Jones. “In 1999, I was by myself on the side of my barn. Now, I have 20 some employees.”
The Ravalli County Economic Development Authority helped the company obtain a low interest loan to expand, KECI reports.
