Mountz Acquires Mr. Metric
Mountz Inc. acquired all assets of fastener importer Mr. Metric Inc. based in San Jose, CA, reports Daily Business News. Terms were not disclosed.
Mr. Metric reportedly will serve as the flagship brand name for all Mountz fastener products, which will be integrated into the Mountz logistics system and sold under the Mr. Metric brand name.
All Mr. Metric employees are expected to be retained by Mountz.
The combined company will operate centrally from Mountz headquarters in San Jose. Mountz manufactures and supplies torque tool products for fasteners and operates in more than 30 countries.
“Our products are used to properly tighten fasteners, the central product of Mr. Metric,” stated CEO Brad Mountz. “Our combined customers will benefit from an expert supplier capable of helping to specify fasteners and the tooling solutions to properly tighten them.”
Mountz plans a new e-commerce website for Mr. Metric, allowing users and distributors to complete transactions using Mountz’s Netsuite ERP platform.
“Our goal is to use the synergies and experience of a combined sales force to educate our customers on fastener and tool selection,” stated national sales manager Daniel Andeel. “Since our customers use fasteners and tools, we see our objective as one of awareness and education followed by delivery and excellence in service and support.”
In February Mountz unveiled a new web site, mountztorque.com, which provides an overview of torque tools by product, application and industry, along with how-to videos and a torque conversion calculator.
Mountz has been in business for more than 45 years and operates distribution centers in Foley, AL; Chihuahua, Mexico; Toronto; and Taiwan. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
