McLean and Mowins
The Industrial Fasteners Institute named Porter McLean as IFI’s Division III / Automotive Industry Fastener Group manager and Mike Mowins as Division II / Aerospace Products Division manager.
McLean was the 2006-07 IFI chairman. His 40+ years of fastener experience include five years as managing director of the Global Fastener Alliance, and he was most recently with ATF Inc.
McLean succeeds John O’Brien, who was automotive group manager for a decade.
Mowins retired earlier this year after 31 years with The Phillips Screw Company. He has been active in the IFI for 25 years and his roles included being a board member and chair of the Associate Supplier Division
Mowins succeeds Patrick Meade who held the post for a decade.
“Both John and Pat served the industry so well, and their contributions have helped grow the IFI membership and keep the focus on the most important matters for their respective divisions,” IFI managing director Dan Walker commented.
“The addition of both Porter McLean and Mike Mowins represents yet another windfall for IFI, as they will have new ideas and bring their individual talents to their divisions for the benefit of the membership,” Walker added. “We are extremely fortunate the timing was right for them both to come aboard.”
