The Mid-West Fastener Association is offering an introductory fastener virtual class two hours per day on February 2-4, 2021.

The MWFA rates the class as “not a sales or manufacturing course, but a semi-technical course beneficial to those new in the industry as well as fastener veterans who desire to increase their fastener knowledge.”  It is designed for distributors, manufacturers or users who buy or sell fasteners; people who require a diversified knowledge of fasteners; and people who train newcomers.

Topics include maker of a fastener; fastener materials; stainless & non-serous materials; applications; basic print reading; fastener guide publications; basic finishes; heat treating; part identification; and caliper use.

James Speck P.E., author of Mechanical Fastening, Joining & Assembly, is the instructor.

Tuition is $100 for MWFA members and $150 for nonmembers.

For registration plus materials the price is $250 ($300 non members) and includes the Kanebridge Specification Guide and MWFA Fastener Information Directory.  Web: MWFA.net  Tel 847 483-8338
