New European Tariffs Drive Chinese to Russian Fastener Show
Chinese exhibitors seeking alternatives to Europe following the new antidumping tariffs increased their presence at the Moscow fastener show Fasttec.
More than half of the 152 exhibitors at the International Crocus Expo Centre were from Mainland China, participants told Fastener & Fixing Europe.
The European Union recently imposed 85% antidumping tariffs on fasteners from China.
In contrast to the increased Chinese presence, Taiwanese and Western European participation was down.
Russian authorities are already reported to be considering an investigation on imported fasteners, following complaints from two Russian manufacturers. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Jiaxing Fastener Association have already been to Moscow to discuss the potential tariffs. ©2009 FastenerNews.com and Fastener & Fixing Europe
