NFL Coaching Legends to Keynote STAFDA Show

Football coaching legends Herm Edwards and Jimmy Johnson are the keynote speakers at the 40th annual 2016 Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association convention. STAFDA will meet November 6-8, 2016, in Atlanta.

Edwards is a pro football analyst for ESPN known for his “Hermanisms” terminology. His sound bite, “You play to win the game!” became the title of his book on leadership.

As head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs (2006-2009) and New York Jets (2001-2005), he took both teams to the playoffs.

He played nine seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles (1977-1986) – including Super Bowl XV – and played with the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons. He founded the Herm Edwards Youth Foundation in 1985 and Herm Edwards Youth Football Camp.

Johnson was the architect of the Super Bowls XXVII and XXVIII Dallas Cowboys’ victories, where he was head coach from 1989-1994. He succeeded Don Shula as head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 1996. He retired from coaching in 2000 with a 80-64 regular season record and 9-4 postseason mark.

In five seasons at the University of Miami he compiled a 52-9 record, two Orange Bowl titles and the national championship in 1987.

He was with Fox Sports between Dallas and Miami and is now on Fox’s NFL Sunday show.

STAFDA previously announced Brandon Moss, president of the tools and assembled products division of Southwire Tools, will give the associate State-of-the-Industry address and association president, Terry Earle of Fort Worth Bolt & Tool Co. will give the distributors’ State-of-the-Industry speech.
