The 2015 National Industrial & Mill Supply Expo is approaching another booth record.

“We have already sold 815 exhibit booths to 623 companies from throughout the U.S. and 19 other nations around the world including Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Kingdom,” expo general manager Susan Hurley said. 

“We are ahead of our last year’s same date exhibit space sales figures, plus we have gained 108 new companies and continue receiving new exhibit space applications regularly.” 

The trade show will be October 21-23, 2015, at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. The trade show will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

The NIFSME booth record of 822 was set last year, edging the previous high of 821 in 2007. 

Hurley predicted 5,000 fastener distributors, importers, manufacturers, manufacturer’s reps, independent sales agents, media and others from 35 or more countries will attend.  Last year show management’s figures were 4,606 registered. The record registration according to show management was 5,629 in 2007.

In 2014 distributor registration totaled 1,347 of the 4,606 total.  The record distributor registration was 1,577 in 2007.  Show management has not announced any new initiatives to increase distributor attendance in 2015.

The 2015 trade show marks the 35th anniversary of the first show held in June 1981 in Columbus, OH. The Las Vegas show was first held in 1997.

 

For 2015 there will be conferences on Wednesday: Fastener Technology Workshop, presented by the Fastener Training Institute; CFO, Controllers, Credit & Accounts Receivable Managers. National Fastener Industry Financial Manager Network and Business Credit Management Association; “Are You Making the Most of Specials?”, Pacific-West Fastener Association; and “Cognitive Diversity & Creative Problem Solving,” Women in the Fastener Industry.

 

There will be a one-hour opening reception Wednesday evening at Treasure Island. 

 

On Thursday the Manufacturers’ Agents National Association will conduct a session on “The Biggest Sales You’ll Ever Make: Your Representative Firm”; and “It’s Not Rocket Surgery: Successful Sales Force Outsourcing with Independent Manufacturers’ Reps.”

The International Fastener Machinery & Suppliers Association will hold a reception at 11 a.m. Friday.

 

Attendee registration is $55 until October 14; and starting October 15 through the trade show is $65.
