Dresselhaus HQ

Dutch industrial holding company Nimbus agreed to acquire German fastener supplier Joseph Dresselhaus GmbH & Co. KG from its four owner families. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Herford, Germany, Dresselhaus supplies fasteners and fastening technology for the automotive, agricultural machine construction, mechanical and plant engineering industries. The company operates five warehouses in Germany, plus facilities in France, Russia and Turkey.

“With Nimbus we have got an experienced investor with an excellent understanding of our business model and market, with whom we can expand our core business in a targeted manner,” stated Jürgen Nordhus, who will continue as managing director of Dresselhaus.

Dresselhaus traces its beginning to 1950, when Joseph Dresselhaus founded the predecessor of the company in Bielefeld, Germany. Today Dresselhaus has 800 employees and annual sales of €220 million (US$243.2 million). Web: Dresselhaus.de

With support from Nimbus, Dresselhaus “can implement the optimization processes that have already been introduced even more efficiently and concentrate on sustainable and profitable growth in Germany and abroad,” according to a press release.

The acquisition is still subject to approval by antitrust authorities in Germany and Turkey.

Nimbus has a portfolio of more than 30 European companies and has a cumulative turnover of around 2 billion euros in the German-Dutch region. Web: Nimbus.com
