NORMA Group reported sales increased 13% to EUR 286.4 million (US$350.2 million) in the first quarter of 2021, including double-digit organic growth.

“Customer demand increased significantly in all major business segments and in all regions in the course of the general economic recovery – a development that was reflected in significant sales growth,” the company stated. “In addition to a strong water management business in the USA, global demand in the automotive industry and in the standardized joining technology business was noticeably higher.”

Adjusted EBIT jumped 47% to EUR 36.9 million during Q1.

“The good first quarter clearly shows that we are on the right track when it comes to setting the course for sustainably profitable growth,” stated CEO Michael Schneider. “We are consistently aligning ourselves to the requirements of our customers and focusing on the strategic business fields of water management, industry applications and electromobility.”

Norma Group achieved sales growth in all three business regions.

In the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), sales rose 12.4% to EUR 132.4 million due to “renewed upturn in demand both in the business with joining solutions for vehicles with all types of drive systems and in the business with standardized joining technology.”

In the Americas region, NORMA Group increased sales 5.1% to EUR 108.7 million, boosted by “substantial” growth in its U.S. water management business.

In the Asia-Pacific region, sales climbed 40.3% to EUR 45.3 million, lifted by “the significant increase in demand in the Chinese automotive industry.”

During Q1, NORMA integrated production at its Shaoxing site into its existing plant in Changzhou, reducing its number of production sites in China to three. Web: NormaGroup.com
