North American Sales Drive Bossard Growth

Bossard Group reported sales grew 0.6% to CHF 127.1 million during the first quarter of 2012, building on its “very strong” momentum in 2011. Bossard said the overall market environment improved compared to the second half of 2011.

Sales varied widely by region.

“In America demand continued to develop positively,” the company stated. North American sales rose 7.9% to CHF 38.1 million in Q1, with average sales growth topping 20% compared to the previous two quarters.

Sales in Europe dipped 1.5% to CHF 70.1 million compared to the first quarter of 2011, though recent sales were up 11% against the previous two quarters of revenue.

“Demand in Asia remained volatile,” Bossard added. After an incremental improvement during the final quarter of 2011, sales in Asia fell 4.5% to CHF 18.9 million.

“Demand will probably continue to differ regionally in the next few months,” the company stated. “Despite this, Bossard Group’s target for the entire 2012 business year is still to achieve sales growth in local currencies in the region of 5% to 8%.”

“The recovery in demand compared to the second half of 2011 encourages us positively.” Web: bossard.com ©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
