Nucor Earnings Fall

Nucor Corp. reported second quarter sales grew 27% to $1.52 billion as tonnage to outside customers increased 25%. However, Q2 net earnings for the Charlotte, NC-based steelmaker declined 86% to $8.4 million on higher scrap and energy costs.
