Obituaries: Dick Knobloch and Jimmy Spruill

Richard F. “Dick” Knobloch, 83, died January 27, 2015, in Indiana.
In 1967 he started a fastener distribution company in Atlanta and later opened another business, which eventually was sold to Service Supply Co. in Indianapolis.
After moving to Columbus, IN in 1995, he worked for Service Supply as vice president and general manger of structural sales until his retirement. He chaired and was an honorary member of the ASTM Committee F16 on Fasteners and was also on ASTM Committee AO1 (stainless steel).
Survivors include his wife, Ann; daughter, Jane (Gordon) Smith of Littleton, Colorado; son, Mark (Susan) of Belton, Texas; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Steve.

Jimmy Randolph Spruill Sr., 87, died January 30, 2015.  He was the owner of JJ Fasteners Inc. and the 1989-90 president of the Southeastern Fastener Association.
Survivors include his wife Janet; daughters Deborah Spruill Hundley and Margaret Anne Spruill Hurst; and son Jimmy Randolph Spruill, Jr. and wife Karen; and six grandchildren.
