Alvin H. Zazove, retired vice president of sales for Heads & Threads International, died February 22, 2006, at the age of 84. He helped Heads & Threads become a global distributor and importer of nuts and bolts.

While stationed in Japan during World War II Zazove met fastener manufacturers. After the war while working for a car dealership he opened a nut & bolt company with a partner who imported fasteners from Japan. His company brought him to the attention of Heads & Threads and he was hired as vice president of sales in 1960. He held that position until he retired in 1990.
“His entire working career was in the fastener industry,” said Lee Bookman, former HTI president told the Chicago Tribune. “He was well respected in the industry and was one of its leaders.”

Survivors include three sons and six grandchildren. Messages to the family may be sent c/o Heads & Threads, 785 Center Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188. 2006 FastenerNews.com
