Daniel Haerther, 82, died September 13, 2007, in Lake Forest, IL, after a long illness. Haerther was chairman and owner of fastener supplier Semblex Corp., which he helped found in 1968. A National Fastener Distributors Association member since 1989, Semblex has annual sales of $60 million and over 200 employees.
Haerther had placed his ownership of Semblex in a charitable trust, keeping the company privately owned under the leadership of Semblex president Robert Rothkopf.
