Herbert Ross Somers, 71, founder of Mid-States Bolt & Screw Co., died July 29, 2001, in Michigan.
Somers opened Mid-States in Flint, MI, and grew the business to 12 Midwest locations with 140 employees. He was a member of the National Fastener Distributors Association and Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association.
Three sons, Scott, Matt and Marc, are active in the distributorship.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons and a daughter; a stepson; and 10 grandchildren. Messages to the family or memorial donations may be sent c/o Mid-States Bolt & Screw, P.O.
